Submarine Channel

American technological artist Jonathan Harris is well-known for combining a love for computer science, storytelling and statistics to experiment and create beautiful projects that explore the human condition – think back to We Feel Fine, The Whale Hunt, and Balloons of Bhutan, to name just a few. In the last year alone, he launched an inspiring community for storytellers called Cowbird, whose mission is to document the human experience.

We were lucky enough to spend time with Jonathan at the WebDox2013 conference in Belgium just ahead of his heartfelt keynote, and about a week after his newly launched project — a one-of-a-kind interactive documentary called I Love Your Work about the lives of nine women who make lesbian porn.

Watch our video profile of the visionary storyteller sharing his refined approach to interfaces, digital culture, and the evolving world of interactive documentaries.
