The Tale of How

South African artist collective The Black Heart Gang have created an epic hand-drawn animation on an audiobed of kabuki-inspired operatic warbling. The Tale of How has a Biblical/Apocalyptic feel to it, as intricate visuals depict the story of Otto, a tyrannical octopus who shamelessly munches on the innocent Dodos living atop his head – before a little white mouse comes to their rescue. Amazingly, the Black Heart Gang are all self-taught and created The Tale of How over a painstaking 9-month period of devoted experimentation.

Watch this space for parts 1 and 3 of this exquisite soon-to-be trilogy.
