Spike Jonze / Arcade Fire premiere. Yumz!

Arcade on Fire this week! A Grammy, a Brit and a premiere of the aforementioned Spike Jonze-directed short movie Scenes From the Suburbs at none other than the annual apex of Euro movie hipsterism: Berlinale. Three members of the hallowed posse answered (mainly silly) questions to a madding press conference crowd, and then the movie began: an evocative, visual narrative to the sound of selects from The Suburbs album cut with minimal dialogue from a cast of beautiful, rebellious young things – plus a smattering of band-members playing sinister military types. Set in a futuristic, dystopic America, teenage day-dreams unravel amidst an increasingly aggressive martial presence… Most disquieting (in a visually exquisite kinda way). FYI new plans afoot for more interactive coolness of the Wilderness Downtown variety from our Arcade firebrands too… Watch this space!
