Must-see Animations by Malcolm Sutherland

This uber-original illustrator/animator from Canada is Featured User of the Week on Vimeo. Just marvelled for 12 mins. at the sheer psychedelicacy of his animated short The Astronomer’s Dream. Sutherland’s Vimeo page hosts no less than 47 animations, from animation tests to complete shorts in glorious HD. Most recently, in 2010, to be precise, Malcolm completed Lifeforms – “a short experimental floaty & aimless animation,” (his own words). We say: it’s a bloody brilliant syneasthetic animated masterpiece. Oscar Fischinger eat your heart out!
