Submarine Channel

We’ve uploaded the last episode from our Belgrade triptych in which we featured earlier young street artist TKV and media artist Aleksandar Macasev. Our third story from the Serbian capital is a short portrait of Ivan Sijak. Sijak is a director and visual artist who has won his spurs in the nineties with music videos that had a big influence on the local creative community.

His best known video is Iza Horizonta that he directed for the Belgrade band Sunshine. Since the turn of the century Sijak is mainly occupied with artistic projects and teaching at art schools. In 2007 he did the visual effects of Emir Kusturica’s feature film Promise me this. We had an interesting talk with Sijak about his artistic career and we joined him on a city stroll.
