Game

FLX.

A multiplayer racing game for Xbox made by multimedia artist Han Hoogerbrugge in collaboration with game designer Sander van der Vegte.

FLX02-charc

FLX. is one of three short video games developed during as part of the game research project A Split Second (2010-2011) – a collaboration between Submarine Channel and Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.

FLX. is truly a one-of-a-kind multiplayer racing game. Using the Xbox Kinect motion sensor, four players control a character that is physically connected to three other characters by means of an elastic band. The goal of the game is to make it to the end of a track while engaging with the oddest of obstacles. FLX. is a fun to play and almost as much fun to watch others play.

A Split Second

FLX. is one of three short video games developed as part of the  game research project A Split Second – a collaboration between Submarine Channel and Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Our aim with A Split Second was to foster cross-disciplinary collaborations between visual artists and game designers, and to explore the concept of artistic authorship within the context of video games. Three unique short games are the tangible end result of A Split Second.
