Wanted: SubmarineChannel web editor intern
We are looking for an active, passionate, aspiring web
editor/journalist intern with a strong interest in digital film, popular
culture and the moving image. We are looking for a candidate with a Higher Professional Education (HBO) or academic working level; who is
fluent in English; has some writing experience; has afficinity with
SubmarineChannel projects, a playful writing style; a creative mind; is
result-driven; is eager to learn and passionate about
the subjects covered on SubmarineChannel. SubmarineChannel's offices (picture) are based in Amsterdam.
Job description
You will be supporting the SubmarineChannel editor and its publicity and marketing department. You will also be working close with SubmarineChannel's web development team.
Your job will be very diverse and includes the following:
* Gathering content (search for new and innovative digital productions)
* Writing and editing (short articles about exciting digital films, animations, music videos and interactive productions from around the world, or interview people that make a difference in the global digital scene)
* Contacting artists
* Testing (new SubmarineChannel projects or DVDs)
* Production (clearing the rights to show a music video for example)
* Online promotion (posting about SubmarineChannel content in appropriate newsgroups, forums and blogs and YouTube)
* Moderating and updating SubmarineChannel's YouTube and Facebook accounts
* Preparing content for online display (converting video formats and some simple AV editing)
* Co-organizing offline presentations (Such as occasional exhibitions, screenings, presentations the we do)
Submarinechannel is a foundation.
We are part of the Amsterdam production company Submarine, which specializes in innovative and creative content for broadcast, video, online and other platforms.
