Chunks

short videos, animations and music promos

Chunks is our permanent showcase for short films, animations and music videos by new and accomplished artists from around the globe. Chunks is a bit like our own 24/7 online film festival where you can discover some real gems -- rare, unique, engaging and noteworthy finds that were fished up by us from film festivals, showreels and from the murky, deep waters of the big pond that is the internet. New Chunks are added a few times a month (there are over fifty now!). So, watch the works and read about what makes them so special, because we don't just throw anything online. Only the best shorts and music promos get to be a Chunk.

The Boy by Mumbleboy

a boy's sinister journey

New York VJ Mumbleboy's The Boy is: 1. An Alice in Technoland animated adventure. 2. A Logan's Run on DMT. 3. The most compelling use of a teeth motif since the Marathon Man. 4. A pretty but still vaguely disturbing tale in five parts of a boy's sinister journey and transformation. 5. Draftman's drawings and cutesy weirdness. 6. Hypnotic colours and spacey futurism. 7. Like playing some warped computer game with fathomless rules set in a bright pastel techno-distopia.

Forget the Film, Watch the Titles

the art of film title design

At SubmarineChannel, we love a good title sequence. That's why we've started an online collection of the most stunning and original title sequences. The first series of titles is online and more are being added. Besides the titles itself, you'll find artist profiles and 'Making Of' comments by designers. So, just this once, it's okay to skip the film.
